Please join us in welcoming Jim Wahlberg to El Paso as he inspires us with his conversion story and in celebrating Monsignor Arturo Bañuelas as our Dei Gratia Award recipient at this year’s 18th Annual Foundation of Faith Event, Serving with Corazon, “Faith in Action.”

The 18th Annual Foundation of Faith Event will be held on September 5th at 5pm at the Starlight Event Center. This is the largest fundraiser for the Catholic Foundation for the Diocese of El Paso that helps us fund our mission endowment funds for the Diocese of El Paso.

Jim Wahlberg aims to serve God by writing, speaking, filmmaking and serving our community. He is a producer, writer, and director of films, and uses his talents and experiences to raise awareness about addiction and point to the hope found in Christ.

He is the author of The Big Hustle and Executive Producer of the number one documentary film, across all genres, of 2022 “Mother Teresa: No Greater Love” & most recently “Jesus Thirsts: The Miracle of the Eucharist.”

Jim has been married to his lovely wife, Benny, for 30 years and they have three children.

Msgr. Arturo Bañuelas is the founding director of the Tepeyac Institute, a diocesan ministry formation center established in 1988. It is one of the largest in the nation and trains laity for parish ministry. He co-founded the Academy of Catholic Hispanic Theologians of the United States (ACHTUS) in 1989 and was named president in 1991.

Msgr. Arturo Bañuelas founded the El Paso Inter-faith Alliance in 2013 and, in 2015, established the Hope Border Institute–Instituto Fronteriza Esperanza, which focuses on justice issues in the three border dioceses of El Paso, Las Cruces, and Juárez.
