El Paso Villa Maria

What started as a ministry of Sacred Heart Church—a home for the aged where the elderly, especially women, received pastoral care from the Jesuits—flourished into what is known today as Villa Maria, a residence for women who are homeless and without children. It is a place of love where women can transition from crisis to self-sufficiency while living in a beautiful, safe, supportive, and spiritual community.

About This Fund

The building that houses Villa Maria today was built by Rev. James D. Loeffler, a Jesuit priest who served at Sacred Heart in the 1950’s. This fund helps support Villa Maria’s mission to instill hope and to inspire guests to overcome the crisis that brought them to Villa Maria’s door.

Villa Maria houses 22 women without their families or children to center them on their journey to recovery and self-sufficiency. The program cares for the whole person and implements a holistic program that addresses physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual needs.

The services are a blessing for women who need help, and ultimately a great service to their families and the larger community. For more information about Villa Maria, click here.
