The church is located in the historic community of Brogado in West Texas, a few miles from Balmorhea. It’s an active parish that is lovingly maintained. The town is said to be named for Father Nicholas Brocardus Eiken, a Dutch Roman Catholic priest who served numerous churches and missions in the area in the early part of the 20th century.
