Catholic Diocese of El Paso Counts More Than 76,000 Faithful Attending Catholic Churches During Spring Mass Count

76,242 individuals were counted during the 2017 Spring Mass Count on May 20 and 21. 32,791 of the attendees went to Mass in English, 41,234 in Spanish. 1,958 individuals attended bilingual Mass and 259 individuals attended the Latin Rite Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, located in downtown El Paso.

The Eastside Vicariate, which includes El Buen Pastor, Holy Spirit, St. Frances Xavier Cabrini, San Juan Diego, St. Pius X, St. Mark, St. Raphael, St. Stephen, and St. Thomas Aquinas, saw the highest number of parishioners attending Mass with a total count of 23,679, followed by the Westside Vicariate with 13,672 attendees, and the Mission Valley Vicariate that had a total of 7,445.

The results from the Mass Attendance Counts help parishes and the Diocese of El Paso with pastoral outreach and planning. The next Mass Attendance Count will be held in October, 2017.
