Catholic Foundation Announces 2016-2017 Bishop’s, Faith, Hunt, & Miles Scholarships

In 2016, the Foundation is awarding $158,498 in financial aid to 72 Foundation Scholars attending El Paso’s Catholic Schools. Most of the scholarship aid ($114,842) was distributed from scholarship endowed funds, with the remainder ($43,656) coming from donations and the grant from the Hunt Family Foundation.

The Foundation for the Diocese of El Paso will host its annual Foundation Scholars Prayer Breakfast on Thursday, August 25 from 7:30-9:00 a.m. at the El Paso Club to recognize foundation scholarship recipients attending Catholic schools in El Paso. The Foundation currently manages 87 separate endowment funds for charities, ministries, parishes, and schools. Of these, 23 funds are designated for Catholic schools with a combined value of $6.6 million; each one of El Paso’s schools has at least one endowed fund for scholarships.

Michael Miles, benefactor, Past President and Member of the Foundation Board of Directors, and Josh Hunt, President of the Hunt Family Foundation, will be present to congratulate the Foundation Scholars.
