The Foundation for the Diocese of El Paso invites you to _Bowling for Seminarians _on Friday, August 4, 2017 at Oasis Lanes (1660 Zaragoza) from 6-9 p.m. Bishop Mark Seitz, priests, seminarians, sisters, brothers, and teams from all over the El Paso community are going to bowl for a GREAT cause, our seminarians. Our new vicar general, Fr. Ben Flores, Pastor of Blessed Sacrament Parish, says he is confident that his teams can take on the 2015 champions from St. Raphael Parish. Come out and see who wins!

Teams of 5 must raise a minimum of $500 per team. All bowlers get the free use of bowling shoes and an event t-shirt. Spectators are free. Donations in any amount are welcome. Don’t have a team but want to play? We will connect you with other bowlers. 100% of the proceeds, including 20% of the food and beverage sales, benefit the Seminarian Education Endowment Fund.

The cost to educate and train one seminarian, including tuition, health insurance, and room and board at a major seminary, can cost as much as $40,000 per year and averages $35,000 annually. The Seminarian Formation Program—St. Charles Seminary—receives funding from a wide variety of sources including the Bishop’s Annual Appeal, managed by the Catholic Foundation, Catholic Extension, the Committee on the Home Missions, a Second Collection, other grants, a Diocesan Trust Subsidy, the Serra Club, the Knights of Columbus, many generous individuals and organizations, and the Foundation’s Seminarian Education Endowment Fund.
