Let's Take a Look Back at Years of the Catholic Foundation's Steward of the Year Contest

The Catholic Foundation recently announced the 5th Annual Steward of the Year Contest. Here’s a look back at the last four years of honoring great stewards in the Diocese of El Paso.

Diana Rascon, a parishioner at St. Mark Church, was selected as the 2021 Steward of the Year. She was nominated in the Blessed Carlo Acutis Youth & Young Adult category, one of seven categories inspired by holiness.

In 2020, the Catholic Foundation’s Stewardship committee selected Olga Church as the recipient of the 2020 Steward of the Year Award. An 80-year-young parishioner at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Marfa, she continued to serve during the pandemic.

Fr. Saúl Pacheco nominated Omar Ontiveros, a parishioner at San Pedro de Jesus Maldonado, as the Catholic Foundation’s 2019 Steward of the Year for setting a great example for his children.

Lynn Sanchez, a parishioner at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, was selected as the 2018 Steward of the Year for being a living example of sharing God-given talents.

The winner will be honored during the 16th Annual Foundation of Faith Event: Building the Kingdom on Thursday, September 22. The winning respective parish, ministry, or Catholic school will win $1,000.
