As a separate legal entity from the Diocese of El Paso, the Catholic Foundation is not affected by the recent reorganization of the Roman Catholic Diocese of El Paso. We remain committed to our core purpose of raising funds necessary to sustain the parishes, schools, ministries, and charities that continue the teachings of Jesus Christ in our Diocese. All monies raised through the Catholic Foundation are only used for the parishes, programs, services, and ministries for which they are designated. No gifts are used to satisfy legal fees or settlement costs associated with the Roman Catholic Diocese of El Paso’s reorganization.

Now more than ever, we are counting on the community to help us fulfill that mission. Our hearts and prayers remain with the victims and their families.

Progress Annual Ministry Appeal Kickoff Celebrates 2025, Sets Up Parishes for Success in 2026

The Catholic Foundation for the Diocese of El Paso joyfully gathered parish leaders and representatives on Thursday, January 15, for the El Paso Progress Kick-Off—a celebration of faith, unity, and shared mission. This inspiring evening marked the beginning of a new year for the Progress Annual Ministry Appeal under the theme, “Building His Kingdom, Together: One Body — One Spirit.”

The evening began with the celebration of the Holy Mass, presided over by Bishop Mark J. Seitz, grounding the gathering in prayer and affirming that the work of stewardship and ministry is rooted in faith. Fellowship continued over dinner, followed by a presentation from Tina Edwards-Milam, Annual Appeal Director, who shared the remarkable fruits of the Progress 2025 campaign.

Through the generosity of 5,075 faithful donors, the appeal raised $1,828,852 in pledges and $1,679,815 in payments, reaching 96% of the $1.9 million pledge goal. While the campaign concluded just $71,148 shy of its target, it surpassed 2024’s results, showing powerful growth and dedication to the work of the Chuch! These gifts directly support 15 ministries of the Diocese of El Paso that serve the most vulnerable, strengthen parishes, form our new priests and deacons, and sustain the mission of the Church throughout El Paso and West Texas.

In the coming days, Tina will travel to West Texas to host additional kickoff gatherings at St. Mary’s in Marfa and Santa Rosa de Lima in Pecos, bringing encouragement from the successes of 2025 and providing resources to support a strong Progress 2026 campaign. Watch out for the new Progress 2026 video at your local parish January 24–25, featuring some familiar faces!

As the new year begins, parishioners throughout the diocese are encouraged to prayerfully consider starting 2026 with hope and generosity by making a pledge or donation to the Progress Annual Ministry Appeal. United as One Body and One Spirit, the faithful continue Building His Kingdom by bringing Christ’s love to life across the Diocese of El Paso. Donations may be made at 2026Progress.org or by calling the Catholic Foundation at (915) 872-8412.
