Seminarian Movie Night on May 20th to Feature His Only Son to Benefit the Seminarian Education Fund

Join the Catholic Foundation for the Diocese of El Paso for an exclusive screening of His Only Son on four screens at the Alamo Drafthouse West on Monday, May 20th, from 6-9 p.m. Tickets are $20 a person, and each guest will receive one raffle ticket and a chance to win fun prizes.

Thanks to our Sponsors, CareFree Homes and Michael and Carrie Bagg. Special Guests, Deacon Luis Rodarte, Jonathan Brieva, and Allan Roman, will introduce the film and share more about their journeys as seminarians.

Tickets can be purchased online at the Catholic Foundation website at catholicfoundationelpaso.org/events or by phone at 915.872.8412. They will also be available to purchase at the following parishes: St. Patrick Cathedral, St. Matthews, Queen of Peace, St. Francis of Assisi, and St. Luke.

Proceeds from the tickets will benefit the Seminarian Education Endowment Fund. This fund was created to ensure continual resources for the formation of seminarians to serve as our Diocese’s future leadership.

The average cost to train one seminarian is $45,000 annually. The cost includes room and board, education, health insurance, and travel expenses. Men are not allowed to work while in the seminary, as they must devote themselves to prayer and study. The annual budget to run the seminary is well over $1 million. Your gifts will help offset these costs.
