Support Seminarians Through The Progress Catholic Ministry Appeal

The Diocese of El Paso is currently blessed with 15 seminarians, including three transitional deacons preparing for ordination to the priesthood in 2023.

In June, the Diocese of El Paso Vocations Office hosted a retreat called “Come and See”. Men from the local community who are interested in the priestly vocation had the opportunity to experience life at the seminary for a weekend. Participants got to enjoy talks, play sports, spend time with seminarians and priests, and attend Mass.

The work to invite men to discern their call to the priesthood continues on a daily basis. Recruiting and educating seminarians is a significant and critical investment, and it’s all possible because of enduring support from the Catholic community.

One way to ensure there are priests for the future is through a commitment of prayer, service, and giving to the Progress Catholic Minstry Appeal, a yearly diocesan fundraising campaign to support the day-to-day operations of ministries and services within our diocese.

Seminarian Vicente Cobos believes in the mission of the Progress Catholic Ministry Appeal.

“Without your generosity, our formation would not be possible. Your faith and the example of your lives inspire us to strive for holiness and to continue to grow in God’s love to be able to serve you one day. We cannot say that thank you enough to all the people who donate and help us as we prepare both spiritually and monetarily to fulfill God’s Will in our lives. Our vocation would not be possible without each of you,” said Vicente.

Your contributions help men, like Vicente, realize their dream of studying to become a priest.

The vital work of the Church is made possible by the generosity of many individuals, families, and organizations. We invite you to participate in the Progress Catholic Ministry Appeal to help Vicente and his brother seminarians reach their ordination day.
