The Permanent Deacons of the Diocese of El Paso humbly give of themselves to spread the good news of Jesus Christ with servant hearts filled with joy. We are blessed to have 45 ordained Permanent Deacons who are currently serving in 32 parishes of the Diocese of El Paso, and 22 men who are candidates for the Permanent Diaconate in their first year of formation.

Spring is here! It’s the perfect time for reflecting on the blessings God has bestowed on us and for renewing and freshening our spirit and that of others. It’s always good to help those in need. But during Lent, it can be especially impactful.

The Catholic Foundation in collaboration with Tepeyac Institute will offer a Social Media and Communications Workshop on Saturday, March 25th from 9 AM -3 PM at the Pastoral Center to assist parishes in “encountering people where they are and as they are”. Currently, more than six billion people use social media worldwide.

We are called to be good stewards of all we have been blessed with, to utilize our gifts generously, and to share those many blessings with others. Giving inspires giving!

The Vatican announced on February 8, 2023, that Pope Francis named Father Tony Celino, JCL, an auxiliary bishop of the Diocese of El Paso.

The Catholic Foundation for the Diocese of El Paso held its 10th Annual Foundation Scholar’s Prayer Breakfast honoring the 2022-2023 scholarship recipients on February 2, 2022.

The 11th Annual Senior Class Mass was held on Thursday, January 26 at St. Patrick Cathedral. The Mass was hosted by Cathedral High School and the Most Reverend Mark J. Seitz, D.D., Bishop of El Paso, was the main celebrant.

The Catholic Foundation launched the 2023 Catholic Ministry Appeal at two kick-off events in El Paso and West Texas over the last two weeks with Appeal Leaders, Pastors, and Administrators. Diocesan parishes will conduct announcements the weekend of January 28th and 29th and commitments to the Appeal will start the weekend of February 3rd and 4th.

The Catholic Foundation, in an effort to share the true meaning of the Eucharist and what benefits we receive when we attend Mass every Sunday, will start a mini-social media campaign that teaches about the importance of the Eucharist to help increase Mass attendance and parish life.
