A yearlong commemoration of Christianity’s 500th anniversary in the Philippines will be officially inaugurated on Easter Sunday, April 4. Bishop Mark Seitz will celebrate Mass to pay tribute to the momentous occasion on Saturday March 20, 2021 at St. Patrick Cathedral at 10:00am.

Gilbert Anchondo and his wife, Brenda, suffered the loss of their son and daughter-in-law in the August 3, 2019 Walmart mass shooting. Gilbert Anchondo suffered a fatal heart attack at the age of 60 and was laid to rest today with Bishop Mark presiding at his funeral Mass. .

The Catholic Foundation for the Diocese of El Paso launched the 2021 Progress Catholic Ministry Appeal last month with the goal of raising $1.9 million by the end of the calendar year.
