Pastors and volunteer lay leaders attended a virtual 2021 kick-off on March 31. Established in 1983, Progress, the Catholic Ministry Appeal, provides funding for the 15 ministries in the 10 counties of the Diocese of El Paso. The kick-off celebration assists Progress leaders with the resources needed to launch the annual event.

On March 21, 2020, the Diocese of El Paso announced it would innovate in order to continue serving the community during the COVID-19 crisis. KVIA initiated a partnership with the Diocese and offered to broadcast Mass every Sunday at 11am to give the opportunity to Catholics across the Borderland to continue to celebrate Mass.
